ROUND 6 REVIEW – NPL NSW WOMEN’S

WNPL v APIA 2.jpg

It’s 26 and counting for the Champions as they tighten their grip on the Premiership in the NPL NSW Women’s 1 competition.

Sydney University 2-0 Manly United

A massive match took place at Sydney University Football Ground on Sunday as the Champions hosted Manly United.

A tight first half saw neither team really threaten except for late in the opening 45 when both teams hit the woodwork.

It wouldn’t take the home side long in the second period to take the lead after a mix up in defence allowed Clare Wheeler to head the ball into the back of thet net.

Shortly after Rachel Soutar made it 2-0 with an extremely fortuitous goal to double the home sides lead.

The loss meant Manly dropped out of the top four while Uni kept their place on top of the competition.
