Jean Narde from Sydney Uni SFC to play in exhibition match with legends Tim Cahill and international star Ronaldinho in Sydney this November.
Sydney Uni SFC's Mixed SAP Technical Director, Jean Narde will team up with and compete against football legends Tim Cahill and Ronaldinho in a world-class match in Sydney on November 1, 2024.
Narde, who joined Sydney Uni SFC earlier this year as part of the coaching staff, has had an impressive international football career, playing alongside icons like Kaká, Ronaldinho, and Ronaldo. His journey includes stints at Sao Paulo FC from 1998 to 2003, followed by international play with FC Saturn, Dynamo Moscow, and Rubin Kazan in Russia, as well as Grêmio FBPA and Sport Club Corinthians Paulista. Recently, he has focused on training elite youth players in his own academy in Brazil, helping them develop the strength and confidence needed for their own international careers.
This November, Narde will be playing an exhibition match against his legendary friends, including Ronaldinho, in an exhibition match featuring a team of international players eager to challenge local Australian and A-League football stars. The highly anticipated ‘Joga Bonita Tour’ will take place at CommBank Stadium, marking Australian legend Tim Cahill's first appearance on home soil since 2019. The line up highlights an incredible team of football stars including Luke Wilkshire, Mark Milligan, Catherine Cannuli, Shane Smeltz, Amy Chapman, Milos Ninkovic, Mineiro, Brett Emerton, Aaron Moody, Carl Valeri, Lloyd Owusu, Cassio, coach Graham Arnold and former Sydney Uni SFC coach for women’s NPL Heather Garriock plus a whole lot more!
“This match will highlight some of the up-and-coming Australian talent from Sydney Uni SFC and A-League teams, bringing them together with football icons in an exciting game for everyone to enjoy,” Narde says. “It’s also a chance for me to play against some of the football friends I’ve made along the way.”
Cahill's team will feature over 450 combined caps from Matildas and Socceroos, with full squad lists set to be unveiled in the coming weeks via social media. This unique showdown promises an unforgettable experience for football fans.
“I’m really looking forward to coming home and putting on a show with the legend that is Ronaldinho,” Cahill said. “When he asked me to join him, I couldn’t say no. It’s going to be great to reconnect with some old teammates and give the fans an amazing experience at CommBank Stadium,” he added.
